SEBASTIAN — To all too many Americans the word "poem" sits silently, just
another diluted four-letter term, as exciting and notable as yesterday's wash after
a monsoon rain. Sebastian's Stuart Lovett, however, is working to change that
image, to make it not only more Internet intense but also unshakably relevant,

Another of Lovett's acclaimed poetic creations, "Invitation," written for President

IN IRAQ

Our troops bravely fight the war, for all our human rights

As the night air in cities of Iraq are filled with battle lights

Bomber pilots try to create a safe path for troops on the ground

Silence turns the heart cold, with an abrupt exploding sound

Many of our brave fighting ones have died

to protect, liberate and free

A people that are truly now,

brothers and sisters to you and to me

It's the greatest love that a person can give, John 15-13 is the truth

For you that gave up your life, you're in our hearts as the living proof

In service you rise with vision and courage, you mark who we really are

The finest of the red, white and blue,

each and every one a rising star.
